Friday 11 May 2007: Heidi dreams of the glorious sunshine as Sarah eats the head off of a gay duck and ponders plucking and shaving...

Heidi says:
The world shines! The future is bright (I gotta wear shades) :)) Yeah!

Sarah says:
What is Heidi going on about. It's rainy and stormy here! No sunshine in sight. Time to put the shades away. Thankfully the weather is not a metaphor for life today! Life is grand. Going to the back surgeon today for follow-up visit and I feel great and happy. A little achy but so would you be if you ran around like I did in the last couple of days with very little sleep. I went to bed after 2 am last night the idiot that I am. I was just a little bit wired and with my husband away it meant I could use the phone in bed so I called a bunch of my best American mates and talked and talked and talked - I can't wait to see them when I go to New York in October for one of their weddings - so exciting!!! It was great fun. But now I am tired and long for tonight when I will go to sleep early with my kid as I told her she could sleep in her daddy's spot tonight. This to her is a big fat treat! As I said the other day, I'll just enjoying watching that little smush-head sleep!

As you can see in the photo below my kid FINALLY decided to start eating her Easter chocolates. She couldn't bring herself to destroy her gay ducks but finally she gave in and asked me to break a head off -- and there you have it. She ate that head happily...

On a final note notice how bad my chin skin is again. I couldn't take it anymore and I plucked all that dang beard hairs out! I had to. I couldn't live with it and I can wait till August - just before I start the permanent hair removal sessions - to really start shaving it in place of plucking and all that - though it would be better to start now - but anyway - I gave up! The great thing is all those damn hairs were on the same growth level and came out quite easily and left smooth skin for the first day. But now my whole chin is like a pimple party - thanks to the plucking. So now I need to measure what is worse: plucking and getting pimples or shaving and getting a 5-o'clock shadow!

Thursday 10 May 2007: Heidi and Sarah Heidi and Sarah Heidi and Sarah Heidi and Sarah Heidi and Sarah…

Heidi says:
Sarah asked if I have comments to put here. I just sighed and said 'yeah' and started to type this comment... I'm blank. Sorry.

Sarah says:
Tonight I am going to watch Little House on the Prairie with my kid and then I am going to read magazines until I fall asleep at like 8:30! I am under the weather a bit – the rainy and dark weather. We need this rain. Don’t get me wrong! I am kind of even enjoying it. It’s perfect for sleeping. I don’t know what has got me so tired right now – maybe just not having enough sleep! No back ache at all today after my day running around London with heavy things on my back – but I have to admit my shoulders and legs hurt a little. I am a wuss! I need to get in shape! Soon enough I can begin doing muscle building exercises again! I can’t wait to feel strong physically! In better shape! I see the surgeon tomorrow afternoon for my last follow- up visit until something goes wrong – which hopefully will not be the case! I’m going to ask him why I get so many foot cramps and intestinal cramps since the operation that put the prosthetic disc in my back! Nothing serious – just annoying! I am also going to ask for some more physio-therapy massages. They really help to get the knot out of my right side which comes back and is tiring. Plus I enjoy them! They can only be good! The worst thing about today is that with this weather it would be the perfect night to watch two more episodes of Battlestar Galactica – but I can’t because my husband is away and I can’t watch it without him! It’s a pity! Maybe rather than reading magazines tonight, I’ll just watch some bad TV. Whatever I do it will be 99% vegging out, that’s for sure…

Wednesday 9 May 2007: Sarah is in London today and Heidi isn't... :)....And now Sarah is back in Belgium tired as can be...

Sarah says:
Long day in London carrying heavy things on my back ... but my back survived! It's my first time trotting around London on foot since my back operation and though I am totally worn out because my day started at 6:30 and I only just got back and it's now about 11pm - I feel okay! That is a wonder to me! Trips to London use to break my back big time. By the end of the day today I had a lot in the bag on my back. It was heavy. But now only my shoulders really hurt. It's a wonder! These are all little tests for me and my back and body and I keep passing all of them with flying colors. With that said, I am really, really, really tired right now and coming down with a cold or allergy or something. My husband is leaving for Poland tomorrow till Tuesday. Aren't we the world travellers! And soon we are off to Scotland!!!! With Heidi and Nico for ASG and TG's wedding! We can't wait! Man I like globetrotting. With all this energy and my new back I could travel the world! But now I am going to crawl into my bed and sleep! My bed will be empty for a few nights after tonight. My daughter will probably get her way and end up sleeping with me while her dad is away. She'll end up kicking me because she is a tosser and a turner like I am and I'll end up kicking her out! On the other hand, there is honestly nothing more delightful than watching my daughter sleep. She looks like she did as a baby. She's so hyper-headed - not physically but mentally - and it always amazes me to catch her in the silence of sleep. So the days ahead I will be mostly a mother. I feel like that's all I have been lately on the weekends because of her birthday and school and youth club events and because my husband will now be away for 4 days. When he's back, he and I have to go on a date! I want a dinner out and to see a movie with him! I want to be more than our kid's parents! I also want a night out with friends. I want to dance but maybe it is too early for that! I just want to be a little free. Soon enough...and in the meantime I will definitely keep on enjoying the mommy-daughter time...

Tuesday 8 May: Heidi and Sarah are pretty girls and Oscar Charlie Dioniso Smith is beautiful - so is his mommy!

Heidi says:
I really like today's picture! Sarah and me had a whole conversation about vanity and self-hate today. We had opposite ideas about it. Sarah was more negative than me. On other days it could totally be the other way around. It all depends of the mood we are in. I like this picture, because I think we both look good in it. A little bit mysterious, or sad even. We look like young, fluffy animals (hmm, maybe that last has to do with the fact that the picture is blurry...). I wouldn't change anything about our faces, framed in this picture. See! Positive!

Sarah says:
I got an email from a friend today saying how bloated and overweight she felt and how she hated that in her 30s she’s getting zits and all these hormonal changes and that she wants to lose 10 pounds and all that. It could have been an email written by me! She feels exactly like I do. It made me sad. I want us all to stop with the self-loathing and to accept ourselves and embrace how pretty and lovely we all are even with pimples and a few extra pounds! So indeed Heidi and had a discussion about all that – and it’s not the first time. It’s ongoing. It’s simple and so complex. I think Heidi maybe got the idea that I think I am ugly. I don’t. I really don’t at all. There are all sorts levels to self-loathing as I have tried to explain before. My issue – my main issue besides a zit here and there and my little beard patch – my main issue has always been, is and will always be my weight. It’s my weight that drives me crazy. It’s my weight that makes me unhappy about how I look sometimes – not all the time but a lot of the time – most of the time I’d say. I feel fine about the rest of me from character, humor, morals to face, to butt, to feet - to other body parts. No problems (except sometimes like everyone) with those things. And things like stretch marks and beard patches and zits and cellulite – well those things don’t bother me so much because I have the body I have and those things are genetically programmed to play themselves out in a certain way that I don’t have a lot of control of. I have to go with the flow of hormonal changes. I have to accept that my skin is prone to stretch marks. I don’t get cellulite really – though as I get older, the skin behind the legs is not as smooth as it used to be. I don’t care about those things. I can live with them. They don’t make me feel ugly. I sort of ignore them other than the hair patch on my chin – that is ugly. I want it gone! But I don’t blame myself for it and it doesn’t make me loath myself at all. But weight – I don’t know how or when weight became such an issue for me but it is embedded into every cell of my body and soul – perhaps as much literally as figuratively. From as early on as I can remember I got messages from the outer world that I was chubby and then fat. I look at photos of myself as a kid and I don’t see a very fat kid but apparently other people did and I absorbed that. It has stayed with me and I can’t get it out of me. It has always felt like my fault – that I am big and overweight because I eat too much. Even though I know I don’t eat too much at all and I eat very healthily except for sometimes – I still blame myself for being overweight. It’s the loudest critical voice in my head. It’s unreasonable. Losing weight for me – like for many people like me- somehow will equal being happy. I know that is the biggest bunch of bull! I know that once weight is lost your problems don’t get solved – unless we are talking about health issues, which I am not – yet- thankfully. The mind is a screwed up entity when it comes to self examination. We justify. We overcompensate. We blur. We exaggerate. We criticize. We over-analyze – like I am doing now. So let me just say once again – and it won’t be the last time – that I feel pretty great about myself as a whole and even if I break things down – I just hate being an overweight-large person. I function best when in my head I imagine myself as much thinner than I really am – that’s how I get through life sometimes. It’s a sickness. It’s sickening. I take solace in the fact that so many women and probably men go through this same thing – if not with weight then with hair-loss or bad skin or bad teeth or other stuff. In the end though I know that as long as I am healthy, this is such a tiny, tiny, tiny problem. I long for the day that I treat it like one and take away all it’s big, fat power over me! With all that said, I think we look great in the photo above but even better as one in the photo below! See – I am the funny fat girl!!!! Hahahahahaha….
Sarah adds:
Look at the beautiful Oscar Charlie Dionisio Smith and his mom Face The Day Google hit Erika Dioniso! I am digging Oscar's Aerosmith jumper! Man is he adorable. Who would have thought Erika could have such a beautiful baby!!! Hahahahahaha! Just kidding! I can't wait to meet the little kid in October!!! Can't wait!!!!

Monday 07 May 2007: Heidi and Sarah have Monday mulles while Heidi foams at the mouth as Sarah falls to the Communists and has a bad bang day...

heidi says:
Our mulles! hahahaha! I had a fine weekend! Those nice guys from De Legende had a great part in that! THANK YOU! And little Yma too of course! The crazy baby. The Putti putti (from cement mixer, the song of which I have a good Mel Torme version of), the Boumie, die beebie die beebie, the mopje, the rot, and so on... (these are some nicknames for Yma). I know, what I say today, doesn't make much sense to you. Don't worry. It's Monday...

Sarah says:
You can figure out what’s on my mind today by the thingies below, which I couldn’t have put better than The Onion has! I love The Onion! The Onion is grand! This week's Onion is dedicated to women and how nuts they are basically! Click here to read about the woman with the bangs problem, which you can read a little of below. Heidi and I surely know the feeling! A Bad Hair day can mean a bad day in total! No joke! I’m glad it’s raining in Belgium because we need the raid badly but what a grey freaking day. I just want to stay in bed and watch TV. I am tired and still raggy and crampy and cranky. Can’t wait to be in my bed!

Area Woman's Entire Day Ruined By Bangs
April 30, 2007 Issue 43•18

ROCKLAND, DE—Local resident Heather Telford's entire Friday was ruined by a set of uncooperative bangs that refused to set correctly, the 26-year-old benefits coordinator told reporters.
According to Telford, the trouble began "right away" as she got ready for work, when she discovered that the three inches of forehead-skirting hair was unable to sit flat, despite the application of numerous gels, sprays, and pomades. A tuft on either side would not integrate with the central grouping, leaving three-quarter-inch gaps, while other wispy strands strayed from her temples, creating a highly undesirable "wing" effect. A last-ditch effort to wet and restyle the bangs only worsened their state, adding several more small kinks and increasing their overall dishevelment.
"It was so awful," Telford said. "I should've just called in sick after I found out that my straightening iron was broken, because the whole day went downhill from there. I can't imagine a worse thing happening to me."

Sunday 6 May 2007: After midnight

Heidi says: Elvis Peeters from De Legende (and Aroma di amore and himself and Peeters en Angst and De bange konijnen and Schmoll) and ME!!! Wout, KOEN VAN ROY and ME!!!! Nice, Wout, ME, Alexander and nen grootn me samoerai!!!!! After midnight, we do crazy things... :)

Sunday 6 May 2007: Heidi and Sarah can't get out of their Borat phase and say "NICE" to the arse in the camera at Sarah's kid's birthday feast!

Sarah says:
Today we celebrated my daughter's birthday with some family and close friends. Don't forget that I have no family here so my close friends, such as Heidi and Nico pictured below with Filip Dewaele, become my sort-of-family and my kid's sort-of family! It means a lot to me to have them at such parties. My friends have always felt more like family to me my whole life so I'm glad I have that feeling here in Belgium too and can pass it on to my kid a bit. It's just important to have those sorts of people in your life - more than just acquaintances! The real thing! I feel so lucky for me and my daughter that we have those sorts of people here and in America.

Heidi and I were being dumb again and couldn't help but imitate Borat. We love the way he says "Nice" all wide-grinned and all. We love Borat and all his fun phrases like "is Nice!" which you can find through this fun link and "wow wow wee waa"- even if he is getting quite dated by now. The arse you see there is from my daughter's newest Barbie. It's Roller-girl Barbie. Heidi and I enjoy it is much as (if not more than) my daughter does!

Good food was had by all this morning. Thankfully we heard on the radio that today has been declared "Diet-Free" Day! Fantastic because man did I eat way too much good stuff. We had a pancake cake for Christ's sake! Layers an Layers of pancakes with a sugar-butter mix between each layer and a chocolate coating on top and on the sides... Yes - I am calling myself fat!!!!! :-)

Sarah adds: Check out "Marv" below! He stopped by while my husband Tom was out for a bit. Marv is starting to look more and more like my husband though - falling asleep at every family party while we decorate him with balloons...reading books by Billy Bragg - hugging books by Billy Bragg... Good old Marv!

Sarah Continues: The below Post Secret entry about pride and it being too late to change and all is the only one that really caught my eye this week. There is something so sad about it. All it makes me think of is this cliche: "It is never too late to change..." Pride is a freaking killer! We all should get over it and ourselves and not let unresolved bullshit get in the way of living well. Let stuff go as fast as it starts to take over. Say sorry. Make that call. Be honest. Don't carry resentment. Say it! Say it now!!! Swallow that damn killer pride. It's unproductive. Name it. Get over it... Go on with life. Anger sucks! Get closure people!

Saturday 5 May 2007: Yma swims and Sarah runs into a Face The Day fan and old friend and flute player...

Heidi says: Yma swims...

Sarah says:
It's late and I gotta hit the sack because tomorrow I have a bunch of people coming over including Heidi for my daughter's birthday breakfast. I have a lot to do in the morning so I have to get up bright and early. I am so very on the rag right now I feel like I could sleep for weeks. I feel moody and bloated and unpleasant. But this too will pass! Anyway - what was fun tonight at the concert of Feather, the band of ex-ex-Greyn-ex-Horus guitar player Filip Dewaele - was running into Horus' ex flute-player Ine, who was also my physio-therapist for a while before my back operation. It was great to see Feather play too of course - reminded me of old Horus stuff. Not really my cup of tea anymore but wonderful to see Filip and his band mates so good-busy. They will do well with the right sort of audience. What struck me personally is how far away I have moved from that sort of music, which I used to love! It was a bit too "emotional" music for me now. I think back then when I used to sing that sort of song full of details about my private struggles - well, I was struggling a lot and trying to work a lot of unresolved stuff out through lyrics and song. I'm not there anymore. I don't have that much left to work out for the moment. That's a good thing. That's why I am ready for easy and fun and loud garage rock! But again - more power and good luck to Feather. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there it will touch and who will like it. And Filip - well, he is a gem of a person and it is really nice to see him sitting on his self-made special drum playing away. I didn't really miss Horus or Greyn at all while watching this concert because like I said - it's not my thing anymore - it doesn't really reach me or touch me - but I did miss being in a band with a good friend and good person such as Filip - and Ine too I have to add. I also ran into Greyn's ex bass player at the gig tonight. So it got me feeling slightly nostalgic. On the other hand - well, it made me look forward to going nuts and wild on stage again one day and singing simple but fun stuff...

Now - back to Ine - a Face The Day Fan. So obviously I know a bunch of people check Face The Day everyday or week or month or now and then and I like that idea - simple stats show about minimum 43 loyal hitters everyday and about 27 new ones - that's average... But it's always even more fun when someone I run into - like Ine tonight - tells me that they check Face The Day everyday! Who would have known! I mean I never expect it from anyone - I wonder why people even bother. But then again - Heidi and I wouldn't have this daily blog if we didn't hope people were checking in every now and then! So Ine - it's good to have you here as a special Face The Day guest star and thanks for being a loyal Face The Day Viewer - one of the loyal 43! We love our viewers so we love you! If anyone needs a good physio-therapist in the Vichte region - I recommend Ine to you all! Now it is bed time! Nighty night!

In line with all that above is this funny article from The Onion. Click here to get into the mind of all the pathetic bloggers out there such as myself and Heidi! Hahahahahahaha...

Friday 4 May 2007: It’s Sarah’s kid’s 8th BIRHDAY today!!! Party! Woo Hoo! And check out Sarah’s fantastic haircut!

Heidi says:
yeah! yeah! weekend! yeah! Tonight spinning and eating with friends. Saturday concert of THE LEGENDE in DE SNUFFEL in Bruges. Sunday Ayla's birthday party. It's going to be a fine weekend! By the way, I urgently need to go home and dance to that new Christina Aguilera song 'Candyman'. Who would have thought that I would ever say such a thing about Christina Aguilera! That song is just so amazing! Everything is good about it: the voice, the groove, the videoclip! It's swell!
I need to shake that ass! I need a party!
Oh by the way, I am on a diet! Gonna loose my last kilos! I'm done with being bigger than I should be (especially because I have a whole wardrobe waiting for me). It is going well!
Oh by the way way: HAPPY BIRTHDAY AYLA!!!!!! Amazing you are 8 already! Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy girlie! I have a nice present waiting for you!!!!!
Sarah says:
I can’t believe my daughter is now 8! Check her out last year on this day by clicking here and clicking here! My how time flies! She’s such a big girl now. I love this little person more than anyone and anything. She is SUNSHINE! This weekend she’ll have a lot of fun celebrating. We stayed up late making chocolate-M&M cookies last night so she could take them to school today. COOKING TIP: Usually I keep such cookies soft by putting layers of white bread between layers of cookies. The cookies suck in the moisture from the bread and the bread goes all dry. The cookies can stay soft for days this way. But now I have a new tip that I found on the internet. Use a small teaspoon of corn starch (maizine) in your cookie batter and the cookies will stay very soft for days as well – just one little spoon does this! It’s amazing. The cookies were chewier than ever! Great stuff!
Two of my kid’s friends will sleep over tonight and stay till late tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow night we’ll go see Greyn’s ex-ex guitar-player's (Filip Dewaele - check out his other site Amba-Amba) new band Feather play for the first time. Sunday we’ll have lots of family and friends over for a birthday breakfast. I feel like super-freaking-mom right now. All these weekends devoted to my kid! I can’t wait to have a night or weekend to myself! I long to go to the movies one of these days! It’s been so long! I’m not complaining – all I’m saying is that I want some down time!

Check out my hair cut below! I love it! It’s light and fresh and airy! She cut so much off. It was frightening. This must be the shortest it has ever been – but somehow it still looks long to me because it’s big hair. I have big hair no matter what. Washing it this morning was totally weird. I had no ponytail part to ring out. It’s all cut up in the back. I’m happy with it! It will be great in the summer not to be so warm with heavy hair. But this do takes more upkeep. It means monthly haircuts instead of every two or three months. But besides that, it’s very low maintenance. I hope it stays nice!

Thursday 03 May 2007: Heidi and Sarah are in a furry blur and hairy-beast Sarah plans her new haircut…What do you think?

Heidi says:
Cloudy weather! Is it going to rain? Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Sarah says:
It’s a blurry, whirly day. All I am interested in today is my haircut tonight. See the below photo – that’s what I am aiming for – short, choppy and more wild. With that said, I know it will end up as always and look exactly the same, just shorter. It never works out. I have a great head of hair if you ask me – but it never works out – especially now with all the crispy grays which get all coarse and unmanageable as they get even shorter. Plus my hair is too heavy. Yes, indeed – I am calling my hair fat. I also have a big fat head. You know when I’ll be happy with my weight, when I see a photo of my profile and I don’t look huge-shouldered, no-necked and big-chinned. That’ll be the day, eh! In the meantime, a haircut will suffice. The trouble with going shorter is that it can make me look too innocent. People always mistake me for a serious person because I just have that look. I can’t just readily smile and look cheery. I try hard but I just don’t get there so people think I am serious until they get to know me. I have been told that time and time again. I liked another photo of me and Heidi today but Heidi didn’t like it because she thought her face looked too facey or something – too weird – too farmey. But what I saw in the photo was Heidi as I see her a lot – with a big happy smile, light and cheery. Oh the dang “Looking Glass Self”!
There are three main components of the Looking-Glass Self (Yeung, et. al. 2003).
1.We imagine how we must appear to others.
2.We imagine the judgment of that appearance.
3.We develop our self through the judgments of others.

So many times Heidi has liked a photo of me that I have thought was awful. We are all so silly and complex I guess… I hope YOU love yourself and how you look! Very few people do - at least only very few have this disorder luckily. I wait for my day in the sun and luckily for me I go from self-hate to self-love to self-hate to self-love so there is some relief every now and then!!! In the meantime, stay tuned for my haircut results tomorrow! I'm gonna look amazing!

Tuesday 1 May 2007: Heidi and Sarah take you back to a year ago today...and wish you Belgians a happy RED MAY DAY!

Sarah says: HAPPY 1ST OF MAY! The flowers above are 1st of May flowers here in Belgium. This is Labour Day here in Belgium. Here you can read what's on the minds of the Belgian Socialists today.
Sarah adds: So above you can see Heidi and Yma - and also please note the photo Heidi added below for Sunday's entry showing off her cleavage... - It seems Heidi's computer and internet connection are working again because here she is! Too bad she didn't leave a comment. I think she's thinking the following while taking the above photo: "Look up YMA, look up...smile YMA, smile...coochie coochie coo YMA, coochie cochie coo... Notice my new couch everyone - the leather one I am sitting on - isn't it pretty! I love it! It's perfect! (In Dutch of course)..."Sarah continues: And above you can see me all decked out in red to honor the socialists and workers of course! After painting our attic hallway and cleaning up some rooms around this mess of a house, we'll head out to the May Day events in Kortrijk and see some gigs. It's sunny and it's great to have a free day! Maybe I'll run into Heidi at the concerts...

Sarah adds:
Check out Heidi and me a year ago today wrapped in the red flag to celebrate the 1st of May - the day of the workers here in Belgium! You want to know what we were up to a year ago today, click here! Notice our hats and winter coats last year! It was cold outside and rainy and I had a back ache and Heidi was pregnant and feeling unwell. We both left the May Day festivities early and chose our beds over all else at that time! I think Heidi had only recently found out she was pregnant and I had only recently found out that my back condition would require major surgery... And look at us now! I am healed and Heidi has a little baby! Wow time flies when you are having fun!

Monday 30 June 2007: Sarah plays clothes designer with her kid and red barbie...Heidi's computer connection is fixed so she'll be back online!

Sarah says:
Just a quicky today! No time to chat. Didn't have my camera today so couldn't get a pic with Heidi sadly! But as of today not only does Heidi have a brand new couch, but also a brand new internet connection at home! So now she can get back online at home sometimes and upload her photos from home when she gets the chance - perhaps on days like tomorrow when we probably won't see each other...
So today was sort of a non-day with tomorrow the 1st being a holiday here in Belgium and all. It's always nice to have a day off. I will enjoy it with my husband and kid. I had fun with my kid tonight. She loves it when I make her Barbie clothes. Tonight our theme was denim as you can see below. It's like that outfit they used to advertise on TV back in the day - in the 80s - it was basic black, had no zippers or buttons. It was some pieces of fabric and fabric wraps and belts that you could use to mold this thing into about 36 different outfits. That's my approach to making Barbie clothes and I must say... not too bad... My daughter thought they were the cat's pyjamas and that's all that matters! Notice how I even matched Barbie to my chair to make for a nice visual!

STAY TUNED FOR TOMORROW'S FIRST OF THE MONTH FLASHBACK PHOTO!

Sunday April 29 2007: Sarah and "Marv" play Chutes and Ladders and stop and smell the flowers on this lovely Sunday of Post Secrets to think about...

Sarah says:
My husband is away, so my secret sweetheart Marv snuck in and helped me with the new ladder my husband happily bought this morning. We had fun playing Chutes and Ladders on it. It felt dangerous! It got me sort of scared of insecure heights. We have to paint that hallway/stairway. It's all that is left of the attic area to do. We are almost there! Then we can start with the next big thing. Luckily I have Marv to escape married/domestic life with. I don't know what I would do without him. Marv is the best! Look at the flowers below he gave me. Actually my kid stole those pretty daisies from her school party yesterday, the little thief! They are pretty though and make our home feel like summer!

Sarah adds: The Post Secret entry that I chose to put here this week is a really hard-hitter as you can see below. This person's first secret of molestation is bad enough but to throw on top of that the fact that he/she killed the molester - BANG! That's a heavy one to see up there on the Post Secret site. If the person who really sent that is carrying these secrets around, that's so sad and painful. You can almost grasp why a child who was molested could grow up and want to seek revenge. It's the most awful of crimes to be molested at the hands of an adult if you ask me. Any adult who does this to a child deserves to be killed - again, if you ask me. I can't believe how easily pedophiles get out of jail and back to their lives. It makes me so sick and puts me in a rage to imagine people harming children. It's an awful thought to know that in many countries, molestation is almost normal - that there are no boundaries drawn. It's frightening to be a parent knowing that these things can happen. It makes me totally sick. I wonder if the person who sent that Post Secret card feels any relief from killing his/her molester. I wonder if this person will ever heal. I wonder if you can live with murder even if it feels justified. I wonder if the postcard is indeed true if it's being posted on Post Secret will re-open investigations.. But then again, if everything is secret, I guess nobody will ever know. Then again, imagine if the Post Secret people felt obliged to send that postcard to the police and through tests and investigations they were able to find the person who wrote it. Would that be awful? I think it would. Then again, such secrets, starting with molestation are AWFUL! To carry that sort of secret around...ughhh... so this person must still suffer with it all. I wonder if the postcard is a cry for help - a cry to finally break the secrets! To be caught... All those different shames and guilts... So sad...
Sarah continues: The below Post Secret entry also caught my eye, the Jew that I am. I get a good laugh out of Jewish jokes - let's take the recently quoted ones by Larry David and Borat - I find that sort of thing hilarious. But indeed if the person making the Jewish joke is Jewish her/himself, it does sort of justify the joke and make it less offensive or unoffensive. I wonder if the person who sent in the below postcard is a Jewish person. It never occurred to me that people might be offended by Jewish jokes if a Jew is telling them - but then again, that is pretty naive! It's a good reminder to be careful of what you say because you never know who you'll offend. On the other hand, we are all far too "precious" most of the time and a lot of people simply have no sense of humor to see the funny in it all - and that can drive me crazy. I saw that with people's reactions to the Borat movie. I was surprised that it really offended a lot of people I know - Catholic people - not practicing Catholics or anything -- just people - okay Belgians - some Belgians - others like Heidi enjoyed it very much. They thought Borat went too far - didn't see the funny in it. Every Jew I know pretty much got a huge laugh out of it. Anyway - humor is a tricky thing, so be careful out there! Check the Post Secret site this week via this link. There are a lot of goodies on there - a lot of provocative ones. I still haven't seen my secret on there. My one secret in the whole world, which three people already know. It's a funny/ gross one - not a heavy one, in case you are wondering...

Sarah goes on: And below are a couple of simply funny ones from this week's Post Secret! The below one just makes me wonder --- how? That wouldn't be possible for me!!! Too many people around. Nice idea though! Would make the days more "fulfilling"! Wait a second - while writing this something popped into my head. I used to know someone who told me she did this sort of thing - easily, with lots of people around. Wouldn't that be funny if it were her postcard. I'm gonna get in touch with her and ask her! More power to you whomever wrote that!

and on... And the below one is just funny. I used to think my dogs were watching. I wonder what animals make of all that! I would love to know.... Cats are smart. They probably have a grasp on it. Wasn't there a good story about that. About a dog that saw a murder or something - an affair and a murder - and helped crack the case somehow... If you know what book or movie that is, let me know...

THAT'S ALL - I'm done now! Happy Sunday!

Saturday 28 April 2007: Heidi and Sarah say goodbye to their favorite lunchbreak place - BIO Planet in Kortrijk....

Sarah says:
Bio Planet's restaurant in Kortrijk is closed as of today so Heidi and I went -as did a bunch of friends - for our last meal there. Heidi and I have gone to Bio Planet for lunch at least once a week when time has allowed. We have enjoyed so many sheep-cheese sandwiches there. It has been such a cozy place to go. The staff have always been so friendly. It's always a good feeling when the people who work at a restaurant know you a bit and you know them. Plus you always see the same people there all the time. It's been homey and nice. Heidi and I our really going to miss Bio Planet. Below you can see some of the staff. The two in the photo below are now both going to be working at the Bio Planet in Gent. Heidi and I will have to make sure to go there every now and then! It won't be the same but it will make us nostalgic! Luckily it's a season now with good weather so Heidi and I can spend our lunch breaks outside in various spots around Kortrijk. But come the winter, we'll be in search of a new weekly eating place that's cozy and homey and has healthy and delicious food - like Bio Planet! Bye Bio Planet! Thanks for all the good meals, coffees and lunch breaks!!

Sarah adds: Above you can see a bunch of us eating outside at Bio Planet. It was a sunny lunchtime and day! A good meal was had by all!

Sarah continues: And above you can see my kid in her open-door day outfit. She performed a great dance and she did so well. I was so proud of her. I didn't know she could dance so well and be so confident on stage before a very large crowd. She looked all grown up! After that I washed dishes for 4 hours and both my daughter and I were so tired when we left the school at 8pm. We grabbed some Chinese take-out and plopped down on the couch like sacks of potatoes! I think I'll go to sleep right away. Man I'm tired. But it's been a good day. My daughter goes to a lovely school and it is so nice to see her in her own element amongst friends - feeling so good and behaving well and being a bright, little sunshine! We have a good life. I am so happy she is happy....

Friday 27 April 2007: Heidi and Sarah want you to meet Special Face The Day guests baby Amber, Pa Den and Ma Nancy and Sarah shares family portraits

heidi says:
Heidi says 'shut the fuck up!'. Oops, sorry! I was quoting from the song :"Simon sayz: shut the fuck up!". Didn't mean to be hostile. Today I have a new wave of energy. New hair, new face (well, it is the result of a facial yesterday evening, so not a completely new face). I feel better than the last days. And it is weekend on top of that! Yma here I come! Olijf (maybe) here I come! If everything goes well, Yma will have her first swimming lesson tomorrow morning. Ok, not really swimming lesson, but it is a groups lesson in which babies learn to be in the pool and they have to get used to the water, so when they are older and really learn to swim, they are not afraid. I will love that so much, to see my little baby girl with her little swimming trunks (blue with pink flamingos) in the big swimming pool.

Sarah says:
I think Heidi looked just fine in her before picture yesterday! But she looks fab today after a facial and haircut. It's a new fresher her. I was waiting for her to cut her hair. I mean she had a baby not so long ago. It was really time for her to cut her hair like every new mother ends up doing... HAHAHAHAHA Just joking Heidi - I know you would have done it anyway, new mother or not!
Sarah continues:
Isn’t that little baby of Den and Nancy’s cute as can be?! She looks so human already. Like a mini-person. Heidi and I stopped by to see our colleague Nancy at lunch today. We got to see Amber in the sunshine surrounded by bright pink flowers. It’s such a sunny, warm day again here in rainy Belgium. Heidi and I are loving it. And it’s Friday and the weekend is so close! My weekend will be all about my kid. First, it’s her school’s open door day and then it’s her youth club family feast –so that takes care of Saturday and Sunday. Tonight she’ll demand we watch Idool 2007 – which is okay with me as it’s fun watching it with her (She's voting for this girl Kim). I just don’t like that she’s already “addicted” to a TV show. But TV sure is a magnet for all ages. My friend ASG turned me on to this TV link. Trouble with it is it’s not 100% reliable. But when it does work, it’s great actually. It leads you to episodes of all sorts of shows. Click here and try it out! Anyway – I should not be encouraging TV watching. It’s sunny! We should all be outside drinking cold Belgian Leffe’s on terraces! Lately, we have been getting quotes not only on new windows but also for total renovation of our house’s facade. It’s crazy! Crazy! Crazy! Crazy! So expensive. It’s stressful to even think about. We really need to win the lottery fast!!! The only non-stressful part about it is imagining how grand our house will look when all renewed. It will be magnificent! Maybe like this house here done by a company from near where we live. Imagine!!! Okay - our house isn't that big - but it's a similar style. It will be amazing! Here is another one sort of like ours. If you click here you can see a before and after. Again, not the same but indeed the same style. With a facade cleaning and new windows - wow! But it'll never happen -- unless the lottery is won by us!!!!

And check out my latest family portraits just in! We had to sit for hours as the photographer tried to get the best shots! The one right below is fantastic! It really captures all of our essences if I do say so myself. It shows our real selves. We are even more beautiful than I thought. If anyone wants the name of our photographer, let me know. He's known for his "realist" work.

Sarah adds: The below photo is the last one the photographer took that day. We were all totally knackered by then. Sweaty and not looking our best. It was so hot after a while we literally looked like we were melting. I always hate how my "bucked-teeth" and overbite come out in photos. I think the photographer did a great job in hiding them. I mean even the rejects are good enough to keep and hang on the wall...

HEIDI AND SARAH WISH Y'ALL A WONDERFUL WEEKENDS FULL OF HOT FUN IN THE SUN AND LOTS OF FLOWER POWER!!!!

Thursday 26 April 2007 part two: Later that day Heidi and Sarah melt and morph from too much sun and quiche poisoning...

Sarah moans:
Oh me oh my, whatever has happened to our faces. Too much sun is obviously no good for the skin. Thankfully Heidi will have had a facial by tomorrow and might be restored to normal. Me, I'm stuck like this forever! I have to give credit to my brother who let me know about this "liquify" program under "filter" in Photoshop. What fun I will have with this! Thanks NSM! IAVPOY! Anyone of y'all out there who wants me to morph you like this, let me know. If I don't have your photo, send me one and I'll mess you up real good!
