Sarah says:Stuck in traffic and hail upon our return! How depressing is that?! Even though it was rainy in Edinburgh, it was still vacation and fun! Belgian rain is not fun at all!
Heidi and Sarah are two camera-hauling, sometimes self-obsessed gals who like a little extra attention here and there! They have been taking a photo of themselves together daily since April 2005 and plan to continue this nonsense for as long as they have it in them! They want to see how they age and with what sort of face they face each day. Do they look more tired on Mondays? More vivid when they wear bright pink? Stay tuned and feel free to Face The Day with Heidi and Sarah here daily!

Heidi and Sarah are like two ships passing in the night looking for the MONSTER...
And check out Marv getting to know Sarah's kid. She even called him daddy!
Oh hairy cow we love you too. Thanks for being a special Face The Day guest

What's that coming over the hill, is it a monster? Is it a monster? Check out Nessie on a bike! She was in great form that day! We love Nessie!!!
There we are on the airplane to Edinburgh!
Here you can see us on the double-decker bus from the airport to the city!
Sarah says:Check out YMA above! That was this morning. She's flipping about trying to make those knees of hers learn how to crawl faster and faster! I'm sure Heidi wants you to notice her new slipper-shoes with raised sheep and her 50s dress -- oh - and her cute little head as well!
HEIDI AND SARAH HAVE TAKEN OFF THIS WEEKEND TO GO TO ASG'S WEDDING IN SCOTLAND! CHECK BACK TUESDAY FOR A PHOTO EXTRAVAGANZA!

Bobux says: From now on, Sarah and me will have new names. From now on, you can call us Cylon and Bobux. We are two prototypes of a new robot. We are not perfect yet, but The Great are working on that. We will be improved with card readers in our heads, and these card readers will hold SD-cards. The Great are working on SD-cards with a huge memory. The Great are thinking to get it up to 500 GB! That is enormous, and that will mean that Cylon and Bobux will not have to write anything down anymore, or use computers and print out. They will be working on their 500 GB capacity and remember everything. You will be able to ask anything that they have ever recorded on their SD-card; they will answer in a second without making any mistakes. Cylon and Bobux will be very practical. You will want to have one in your house.
Cylon Warrior says: Atlantia Death Squadron, Attack!
Tyrol says: But how do you know I'm human?
Cylon Priest Cavil says: Oh, well, maybe because I'm a Cylon, and I've never seen you at any of the meetings.
Cylon Sharon Agathon says: "When God's anger awakens, even the mighty shall fall

And there below are my older brother NSM and my sister-in-law JO in my house today! Don't they look healthy and great! They were here two years ago at the same time and I saw them last summer in California, where they live. So much has happened between then and now. It is just so wonderful to see them both - and especially Jen looking so shiny and fresh and healthy and in great shape after all that her mind, body, spirit and soul have gone through in the last couple of years. Jen's hair has grown in curly. I think it's so nice! Makes me want to go much shorter. It's lovely to have them here again!

So it's Sunday, which means Post Secret time! Below is definitely my favorite this week. I can totally relate. Big Time even!!!!! One frustrating thing I find about Belgium is that so many people play it so safe. That isn't meant to be an insult. It's just not what I am used to having grown up in America where you often really can just totally start over and do okay and take risks. The other side of that is huge of course - many people obviously can lose their wealth there just as fast as they build it up and all. I realize that. But here, you become what you study even if it isn't, wasn't really what you dreamt you'd be and there is often very little room for career change or risk-taking. I am generalizing indeed. But I really can appreciate that American go-getter spirit sometimes! It can be loud-mouthed and over-confidant and seemingly arrogant to think you can become anything you set out to be -- but it's a nice thought and too many people really do let a lot of fear get in the way of taking new action and direction in their lives. It's far too general for me to say that Belgians don't take risks and that Belgians would rather stay in a bad situation than take the risk to get out of it with the possibility of failure and all that. But there is something to it - in general. Just the whole set up here of choosing your career direction via what you study starting at age 12 already! You sort of get put in this box based on some tests you take and then you follow that path and can almost be forever defined by it. It's changing here and it is becoming less of a catastrophe and more of a possibility to indeed change direction in university or in career - and I'm glad about that. The fewer things that close you into a box in life, the better. The world should indeed be all of our oysters in some way or another. There's just so much to learn and see and do and grasp and grab. I can really appreciate the "go for it" side of the American dream. Of course I'd be a liar if I didn't admit I love the European Social system and am happily living off of it. I guess there's a lot to be learned by mixing together all of the great things from various cultures!
Above you can see a very beautiful spot in Brugge and out stupid heads...
This is a duck we ran into on the street and felt solidarity with...
This woman was very happy to let us pose with her. Very affectionate...
Too bad you can't really see it, but that's Belgian Chocolate behind us at The Chocolate Line Shop. It's a great shop with special stuff such as tea-chocolate. Isn't that Johnny Depp? What's he doing there? Anyway - man did that chocolate remind me of why I live here!
The above photo is only to show you Heidi's amazingly beautiful new dress which she wears oh so well! Nico's suit isn't bad either! What a pretty couple, no? If only they were smiling!

Heidi will have to tell you who the guy above was. We ran into him on our way back to the car - already on the 3rd of June by then I think - just after midnight or so anyway. He's a bass player from Belgium named Slim. A Rockabilly bass player she knows. He put on his best sideways smile for us. Look how tired Heidi and I looked by then. We are getting old man... I am anyway. I look all bloated - maybe because my first present today was my period! Or maybe I ate too much...
Anyway, I had a fab birthday. I lost at air hockey though. I sucked at it!!!! I have to improve my game somehow. Heidi and I are going to have to go to the bowling alley on our lunch breaks so that I can practice air hockey and start winning again. Even my daughter beat me in one game!!! The shame! The shame! Today - now it's the 3rd by the way as I write this - today I'm going to a big birthday celebration. It's my father-in-laws birthday today. It was my brother-in laws birthday last week and it's his son's birthday next week. So we have a lot of celebrating and eating to do today! I think I will explode from all this eating and get a fat head again!
