NEWSFLASH 29/10/06: SUPPORT 0110 VLAS VEGAS-SEMTEX-DIGG EVENT IN KORTRIJK

Belgian magazines Semtex and Digg, and concert organisers Vlas Vegas team up to fight the growing intolerance, racism, negativism and all-round violence that surrounds us.

Inspired by the 0110 manifestations in Belgium's big cities, they have joined forces to create a festival of tolerance and diversity in downtown Kortrijk. Exactly one week before the elections they strongly advise people to vote responsible and tolerant. They will always refuse to be part of a society that discriminates people based on origin, political conviction or religion.

To find up-to-date information, promotional images and the festival's line-up, head over to the 0110 page on Vlas Vegas' website (in Dutch). It would be awesome if all bloggers, myspacers, messageboarders and website owners helped to spread these images and information throughout the open-minded blog & internet community.

We sincerely hope to meet you on October 1st (01/10) in Kortrijk

Friday 29 September 2006: Yma goes home today so hopefully Heidi will get some pics on here soon!! And Sarah goes at it alone with inverse bellyshot!

Sarah says:
So you see in my chin and my greasy face and in my inverse bellyshot that indeed it's happening. Slowly but surely the weight is coming off and starting to show. I went down one size, which is good. I have a short time to go before the back operation on the 7th of December and a lot more weight to lose still. But I'm doing the best I can! That's all I can do!
YMA! goes home today! That's so exciting. Heidi is in love big time with this little girl! I know that feeling well. Lovely...

Thursday 28 September 2006: Sarah chops her face into two pieces as Heidi spends her last full day in the hospital…

Sarah says:
A strange thing is happening. I am getting some energy back – some good old energy…some much needed energy. I am in pain all of the time and that drains me terribly and makes it hard to sleep and to function but I think I have learned how to get through my days with fewer painful movements which means slightly less pain, which means feeling generally better and having more energy!
This is a great thing! I have been feeling depressed for a couple of months and a bit numb to be honest. I am happy to feel better again. A little better anyway. Revived.
I think I got some good stuff out of being in Berlin and working hard and going to see gigs. I also am getting some energy because finally Greyn will perform again – even if only for 20 minutes, Sunday the 1st of October at this 01/10 Vlas Vegas event in Kortrijk. I need a stage. I need to be in contact with lots of people. I need to be running around doing stuff all the time if I can and my stupid back pain has stopped that for the last months. It still hurt terribly but mentally for once in a long time I feel okay again. I hope it lasts. I have the surgery for the fake disc on the 14th of December. I hope until then I can enjoy my days. I hate being depressed and homebound and inactive. I need to be part of the world. I think Yma’s entry into the world has also given me some energy. It’s great to see Heidi so happy and I can’t wait to get to know her little girl!

Wednesday 27 September 2006: Sarah considers the fountain of youth but who cares, all you want to see is little lovely YMA!

QUICK PHOTO TRIP TO THE HOSPITAL RESULTED IN THIS PHOTO OF HEIDI AND SARAH! LOOK - HEIDI IS WEARING MAKE-UP! SHE'S FEELING GOOD AND AWAKE AND IN LOVE WITH HER NEW BABY GIRL YMA!!!
Sarah says:
On the one hand I look young because I have big zits all over my face. On the other hand I do see I am really starting to age. That hairstyle makes me look older. My grey hairs make me look older. And alas, I do see some lines making their way into my face. I guess this is what 35 is like. At some point one has to look their age. I don’t mind it so much but it does feel strange. Strangely, I also think I look older with a thinner face. You see that a lot in people – fat covers up age sometimes.

Anyway, who cares, right!!! All you want to see is little baby Yma (pronounced E-ma). Well, you’ll have to wait till tomorrow! I’ll do my best to get some quick shots tonight as I pass by the hospital on my way to Greyn’s rehearsal. Speaking of Greyn, make sure you check out the Vlas Vegas site to see lots of people’s heads but also to see that Greyn along with loads of other bands will be playing for free at the Vlasmarkt in Kortrijk on Sunday the 1st of October in event against racism, unnecessary violence and negativity.

Tuesday 26 September: Check out YMA yesterday at two days old! What a cutie Heidi had! YMA is Face The Day’s new star!

Sarah says:
Here are some pics of Heidi’s lovely little Yma! She’s a looker! A beauty! A cutie! You will probably see her a lot on these pages for a while.
But alas – the baby days can turn you into the magnet-mom you see in the photo of me today. Parenthood, as nice as it is, can make you nuts at moments! I love that magnet. It captures the lunacy well! Yesterday I could see some expected exhaustion in Heidi’s eyes. Man do I remember that heavy tiredness well. But all the joys surely outweigh any of the nuttiness of parenthood! Heidi and Nico are going to love this baby so very much! It’s so nice to see this little family unit of theirs forming.
I think all these kids of people I know around here have the names for the perfect chic rock group: Ayla, Yma, June, Oone, Adeliene, Kika, Tine, Eef, Mo… the list goes on and on. My great mate E-Rocker in The States is also now with child in womb! It’s so very exciting! I can’t wait to meet her kid!! All these babies. Very exciting indeed!

Monday 25 September 2006: Don't look here at today at my pimple face!!! Look at yesterday's Face The Day entry!!! YMA WAS BORN!!

UPDATE: HERE'S HEIDI AND YMA ON DAY 2 OF YMA'S LIFE!!!
Sarah says:
Don't look here at my zit face mess. Look at yesterday's entry so you can see HEIDI'S DAUGHTER YMA JUST BORN!!!!!
Here's my fave Post Secret entry this week about breaking or not breaking habits. I am quite sure my husband often hates me for my nail-biting habit. But as hard as I try, I CAN'T STOP!!!! When I was a little kid some man hit me on the shoulder and told me to get my fingers out of my mouth. People have been trying to stop me all my life. I have tried to stop myself. Failed! I also pick my nose sometimes as I am sure everyone of you does too and I scratch my legs a lot in a manic way. I also talk way too much a lot of the time and I interrupt. All bad habits! What are your bad habits? Nobody is free of them!

To know more about what the below photo-posters are all about and why these sorts of posters are hanging all around Kortrijk go to this Vlas Vegas link!

Sunday 24 September 2006: WELCOME TO THE WORLD YMA!!!!!!

Sarah says:
There she is, little lovely Yma! Heidi and Nico did it! They had a little girl at 3:54 today. She was 3.8 kilos and 49 cms. She's beautiful! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Saturday 23 September 2006: Heidi will loose it soon (what's new?) And indeed....

Sarah says:
We took a photo at around 3pm or so I think but Heidi was starting to have contractions so she obviously didn't have any time to upload it! Check out Sunday's posting to see this new little person who came into the world and into Heidi and Nico's lives and everyone who knows them!!!!! (Message to Heidi -- don't forget to upload the photo of you on the monitor from today and the one of us from today when you get around to it in like 5 months!!!)

Heidi says: Last week, the gyneacologist told me that if I didn't have the baby by the 22th of September, from the following day on, I should go to the hospital every day for monitoring. My first appointment is made for this morning at 11. I really hoped my baby would jump on the world this night, but she made no effort at all. I guess she will have that from her mother (stubbornness...). So this morning, we will go to the hospital and hear her heartbeat for an hour. I can think of worse things to pass my Saturday morning. But please, everybody who reads this, cross your fingers that my daughter gets sick of being in my womb soon... I want her out! Because I want her!

Friday, September 22, 2006

Friday 22 September 2006: Today is the day for Heidi (but she thinks nothing will happen) and Sarah has a good last day in Berlin!

Starbucks and Lush right next to each other!
A part of the Berlin WallSarah says:
Nothing like Starbucks, Lush and the Berlin Wall all together in one day to make you think about how the world has changed and how Berlin has changed since the Wall came down. I couldn't help but go to Starbucks and Lush as they were just outside my hotel and on my way to where had to work. Parts of The Wall were also just around the corner. I visted those with a clinet just after we ate lunch but I had to get a taxi to my hotel and the airport fast so didn't get to see anything really! I have to go back to Berlin and see more! There is so much to see and learn about. This city is huge and wonderful.

Heidi says: No signs of a birth... I am waiting! When is she going to show us that little sweet face? The world is waiting, girl!

Thursday 21 September 2006: Heidi can't wait to meet her daughter and Sarah meets Belgian band A Brand, eats sausage and falls for 2 Norwegian bands!

Sarah says:
Second day and night in Berlin was good but long! After working the whole day I did some “networking” at night at the place where all the concerts took place. Had a good time seeing some GREAT Norwegian bands! I saw Kaizers Orchestra and Cloroform! Man were they good to watch and loved their music and whole show! They are zany and nutty and wild those Norwegian guys and I can’t help but fall in love with each and every one of them!!! I want to move to Norway! I also saw the Belgian band A Brand and those guys were kind enough to sign a poster that I can give to my kid’s babysitter, who’s a big fan! A Brand put on a good show but were in the wrong venue for sure. They deserve a bigger stage. They have a lot of humor up there on stage and need room. Their sound is big and probably can reach beyond Belgium. I like it – can’t say I love it – it’s been done so many times before. With that said, they do do it really well and are a fun show to see so I recommend them and wish them a lot of luck! I think they can have a lot of success because their audience can range from 13 year olds to 60 year olds. When you hear their music you can’t quite place what other bands they are stealing from but they hook you in with familiar riffs and their choruses stay in your head playing over and over again. So I’d say they know what they are doing and more poser to them!
I had to throw in a photo of me eating a German sausage! It was actually very tasty and only cost a few Euro! I love Berlin! I must go back with more time to see that wonderful city.

Heidi says:
I can't wait to meet her!
I can't wait to meet her!
I can't wait to meet her!
I can't wait to meet her!
I can't wait to meet her!
I can't wait to meet her!
